Statement

I have exhibited prints and drawings in the United States, Europe, Mexico and Central America; with the work’s  major emphasis being the rights and abuses of women and children. My overwhelming interest in the global treatment of women, both culturally and socially extends to historical and religious depictions of women, the purpose being to speak about and promote awareness of their conditions.

As an Instructor of art and art history at Benedictine University, and the College of DuPage, I bring my experiences to the classroom to help broaden students’ exposure to the art world and help prepare to live and work as artists.

As a curator, I continuing to work to bring a variety of arts to students and the public. To date, I have worked at the Art Institute of Chicago, Elmhurst Art Museum, Loyola University in Chicago, and coordinate international exchange exhibitions, a number of them with Consulate Generals from Europe and South Asia.

Additionally, I choose to collaborate with other artists/printmakers through Ochosi Editions, a publisher of original fine art prints, and I write articles on contemporary printmakers on the blog That’s Inked Up, and serve as Arts Editor for the DuPage Valley Review.

I was born in Rapid City, South Dakota. I have a BFA in fine art from Miami University, Ohio. I hold an MS and MFA from Illinois State University.
